i lost 38 pounds now i just go up and down acid reflux never have a normal bowel always stomach ain always freaking out i think i may have esophageul cancer im 18 male non smoker please please please IM me or email me nyrangers122089
A: Anxiety can cause stress in your entire body causing all of those things. Cortisol levels in your body increase when you are stressed/anxious which can cause weight gain, especially in your stomach area. You probably should get to the Dr. He can prescribe something for your acid reflux, or an anti-anxiety med. Try to watch the amount of caffeine you consume because that can heighten your anxiety.
Q: u a doctor or nurse in intensive care – causes of death?
This is the e-mail I got:
Aunt Judy died during the night Saturday night. She had been to the doctor on Tuesday and had acid reflux.
death = acid reflux ? ??????????
she had breast cancer and cured but that is not the cause of death. If it was, we’d be told that she died of complications of breast cancer. Age about 82-83 and elderly but acid reflux leads to death 5 nights later is unsettling.
A: If she is above 80 years then what she felt as acid reflux must have been the pain of a heart attack. Most probably she must have died of Ishchemic heart disease (Heart attack).
Sometimes even younger people also mistake pain of heart attack as gastric related pain. But on taking ECG it turns out to be heart problem. In older people it is more common. If she was taken to a hospital and if an ECG was done most probably they would have made a diagnosis.
Another possibility is a bleeding from a peptic ulcer.
You can get the death report from the hospital. It will explain the cause of death if they know it. But sometimes old patients with multiple problems die before a proper diagnosis is made. Then it is difficult to know the exact cause of death unless an autopsy is done.
Try the hospital record or talk to the doctor. You will get some better idea about this.
Q: RAW IRRITATED THROAT PAIN IS IT CANCER?
What would cause my nose to start running, dripping for the first 30-60 minutes, when I get up in the morning then it stops all day.
My throat is raw and irritated again after a couple of months of feeling fine, this winter my throat was feeling raw and irritated and now again is feeling raw and irritated again?
This does not happen all the time, lately it started up again. Is this happen while I sleep and running down my throat, and causing raw and irritated throat during daytime, if so why?
I had CT scan, blood work, throat scope down a few months ago, only to be told that my throat is raw and irritated, possibility cause from sinus infection or allergies, acid reflux?
I have been concerned that it may be throat cancer, doctor who did throat scope said he did not see cancer, just raw and irritated throat?
What could have caused this issue to fair up again?

A: Your doctor is probably correct. It’s probably allergies or maybe you have a bacterial infection. Do you smoke or chew tobacco? Those are the biggest culprits in causing throat cancer.
Q: Urgent! I think i have cancer!?
Ok , please answers this out:
I had a medical problem almost 3 months ago.. Had an overgrowth of a bacteria in my stomach..? Called Enterococcus Faecalis.
So i had 2 perianal abscesses , 2 fistulas , and i have 2 fissure. So i had a surgery with general anesthesia for the abscesses and fistulas. I’m ok now , but i have another problem!
I will point out that I am a Hypochrondriac.
Now i think i have colon cancer because:
1.Sometimes during the day a little pain in my abdomen
2.My stools are ok , but sometimes i get maroon (red) stools.. I will also point out i have untreated Anal fissures! Maybe cause of that?
3.I have gas pains sometimes (but today not).. yet
4.I now have from a few days a little pain my lung area..sometimes coughing but rarely
5.I think it spread to my lungs… im an idiot and everybody thinks that im just making it up! I hope it’s not cancer!
Also i think i have Acid Reflux because all of those symptoms + I get what you call “Mimiced Heart Attacks” Which means not a real heart attack , but mimiced by stomach.
I went thru alot of stress these months and prehaps all of my problems are because of that?
I also think i have colon cancer more and more because these months because of my problem I was home and rarely Active outside.. I sometimes eat red meat (but only sausages) for time.
My family has no cancer history at all… except my mum’s dad had stomach cancer but mum didn’t.
I’m only 12 and want to live alot more.. help me
God damn spammers – Steve
Ok I also went a few weeks to my GP and she pressed on my abdomen (searching for lumps or whatever) and said no tumor processes and i haven’t lost any weight
I do sometimes breathe harsh , but it’s from my anxiety .. when i get nervous i start to do that
Crispy – Thank you sooo much you made me happy
Yes , im trying to get over the hypochrondria , but you know it’s hard and when anxiety strikes.. But thank you so much
Yeah , guys , I know. I just started school , saw my friends and now i feel alot better!
I forgot all the cancers and crap!
I shouldn’t ruin my life with stuff that won’t happen! You should too Lisa!
A: Great explanation of your symptoms. I suggest its extremely unlikely you have cancer. Fear of cancer is common. Not many people realise that the body is constantly regenerating cells and often something goes wrong in the process. The immune system recognises this and naturally gets rid of these defective cells. Recent research states that sometimes early detection of cancerous cells is not beneficial because without painful, uncomfortable and potentially dangerous treatments the body would have spontaneously eliminated these cells from the body. You are obviously affected by your previous illnesses and suffering , as you admit, from anxiety. Learn to relax. Try meditation. Get used to the fact that you will probably live for another 70+ years and you can make your life easier if you lose the hypocondria. Why worry about something that might never happen?
Q: maybe gross to some, but 4 those that have IBS, especially women, how do u treat the symptoms w/out medication
I am grieving the loss of my father. It’s been 1 yr since he passed away from esophageal cancer caused by untreated GIRD(acid reflux disease). I have gird but am treating it w/meds & getting endoscopy’s annually. But, I’ve had IBS before due to severe stress & now it’s back. I have no appetite, but I try to eat healthy, I’m nautious often & not much food appeals to me. I see plenty of doctors already…and I take metamucil…any suggestions?

Q: Sore throat ,Should i get my tonsils removed ?
Hi
I have had constant moderate sore throat from past 5 months. My tonsils look healthy when i look at them in the mirror. I have a deviated septum and have a history of sinus infection.but never a sore throat. I used to smoke 4 ciggaretes a day and now i have quit from past 2 months.Doc has ruled out cancer
I was put on loads of anti biotics by physician after blood and urine tests(which were normal) which dint ,later my first throat swab came back as negative
I was refered to an ENT who told it was just acid reflux caused loads of antibiotics and prescribed me a Proton pump inhibitors
He then put me on anti-viral drugs, which dint work either. I went to another ENT
He just asked me gargle as solution called betadine and gave me some pro-biotics which dint work either
I had a 2nd throat swab,it was postive for Group A strep, the ENT stated it was tonsilitis and pharyngitis and put me on antibiotics along with probitics(which dint work either) .He then later changed the antibiotics .
I had mild sore throat for 2 days and then it was back to usual pain level
I went to him today with my 3rd throat swab which was negative,he put me nasal spay and some vitamins tablets stating some allergy must by causing the nasal blockage and sinus drainage which is causing the sore throat
I havent started using the spray or have eaten the capsules, the pain has increased and i have difficulty in swallowing now
Should i get my tonsils removed ? I heard its post operation gets painful as your age progresses(am 26 yr ,male)
Please help ,,am out of my my mind here…
A: Hi! my name is Ashley, I happened to come across your question. I am a Holistic Healer, so i hope i can help!
Drugs, Antibiotics, etc: These things never work. Because your body does not have a chance to heal. It’s just constantly being fed……….. Crap.
Having your Tonsils removed: Lots of people think that once they have the spell of a HORRIBLE sore throat, then doing away with your tonsils is the case. Believe me, it’s not.
How You Can Heal:
1.Start by getting a thing called bed rest. This is going to enable your body to rest. Your body repairs when your sleep. And when you get plenty of sleep, it can repair the damages.
2. Drink a mug of hot tea once daily. Adding Honey and Lemon will also help. It will soothe your throat and break through the mucus.
3. Bathing, because your skin helps to fight of things like sore throats. Taking good care of your skin helps with that.
4. Take it easy. Relax.

Q: Persistant Cough THat lasts for YEARS?
I’m 30 years old and male, have had a nagging cough that has become a regular part of me for about 5 years now. It isn’t a crazy cough, just a throat cough that is fairly light but happens several times a day.
I feel an itch, and cough to get rid of it. Thing is, my wife says I don’t cough at night while sleeping, AT ALL! I also find I don’t cough when my mind is occupied. I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I find that when I’m sparring, I don’t cough at all, my mind and body are occupied in the task at hand and I’m just not aware of the itch.
Same is true when lifting weights or running. I am overweight and was told by an allergist it could be allergies, or acid reflux causing an itch in my throat due to my weight. I just saw an episode of Dr. Oz and he says it could be lung cancer. I smoked cigs once or twice in college, literally once or twice, and had the occasional cigar at a dinner party but have abstained for the last year or so from any tobacco. I currently have a flemmy cough, probably caught this real cough from my son who was sick recently. I am getting checked by my family doctor soon (making an appointment on Monday) but want to put my mind at ease. Could it be allergies, OCD, or nasal drip?
One of the symptoms of Dr. Oz for lung cancer was shoulder and neck pain, but then again, I have giant guys trying to choke me out and twist my shoulders 3 or 4 times a week at jiu jitsu, so that could be the reason for that. Any help would be great, very concerned about this.
A: You cannot be diagnosed by a doctor on a TV show.
You cannot be diagnosed by some helpful (possibly crazy) folks on the internet.
Smoking or not just changes your risk for developing lung cancer (and throat cancer, mouth, gum tongue cancers…) Smoking doesn’t guarantee that you will or will not get some disease.
If you are frequently getting choked and strikes at the throat – I would worry more about nerve damage. You could have a damaged nerve in your throat that is causing the tickle leading to the cough.
You might also have some obstruction – scar tissue, a bruise or blood clot, or loose tissue due to your weight. These are similar to the things that might contribute to “Obstructive Sleep apnea”.
Again – I’m not a doctor, and I don’t know you.. I can only guess.
You need to become (or remain) an active manager of your own healthcare.
You hire or fire doctors, you tell the doctors what bothers you, and you keep notes and records for yourself. Obesity, family history, blood pressure, cholesterol, diet, excercise.. all help to make predictions.. but nothing is a guarantee. You need to make a regular checkup part of your priorities, and discuss this cough with a doctor you trust.
Q: My mother has all these weird health-crazes that she follows… and they change weekly!!?
I’ve had it up to here with her! Every week it is a new thing, “We need to do a colon cleanse,” “We need to eat seaweed,” “We can’t drink water with our meals because water causes acid reflux,” etc., and it is driving me frigging insane.
What makes it worse is that once day she’ll say that you CAN’T do something, and then the next, it’ll be that you can ONLY do that thing — it’s like, make up your mind!!
She hears all this crap on infomercials too, so it is obvious that it is just crap that she is hearing.
How can I get her to stop doing this? It would be fine if she did it with her own life, but she tries to critique me — this week her new thing is that we’re not supposed to eat meat, so because I ate a hamburger, I guess that it is her opinion that I will die now. AHHH!! I could just strangle her!
She is constantly dehydrated (because she refuses to drink water because she thinks it’ll cause acid reflux) to the point where she can barely eat because her throat is so dry, she is exhausted because she stays up until 12 am and then gets up early for work, etc., she just doesn’t take care of herself.
Ooops, hold on, as I’m typing this she just screamed out, “Iodine is essential in the fight against thyroid problems and breast cancer,” meaning that she must have heard that on TV today.
How do I get her to stop? This is driving me crazy. Seriously.
Thanks, I’ll pick a best answer TODAY!
A: You have to face the fact your mother is not the smartest person in the world. She is easily influenced and not very bright. If you can get her to a Dr that might help, she should be drinking water or she will endanger her health (as you have stated). Go with her to the Dr and tell him whats going on and make sure he explains the dangers of these health fads to her.
Q: I’m afraid I might have throat cancer (im 20 years old)?
Just over a week ago I started feeling something in throat, where I swallow food. It felt like a piece of food got stuck there. So, like usually, I drink fluids and eat something pasty like bread or pasta to wash it down and it always works. Anyways, I did that and the feeling was still there. I went to a doctor already and he only took a look with the wooden Popsicle stick and his light, he couldn’t find anything nor did he tell me to get an exam of that area with a camera tube. Instead, he prescribed me nasal spray because he thinks it’s a sinus infection. I didn’t get the nasal spray because frankly, I’m not convinced with his analysis.
It’s not exactly hard to swallow as I can eat food normally, but It does feel weird when i drink water. The feeling of something stuck in my throat seems to calm itself down after I wake up from a night’s sleep, but it does re-appear again throughout the day and is most noticeable at night.
I have smoked before, nowhere near a pack a day, maybe a pack consumed in two weeks time at most. I have smoked more this year, but it was on and off, with 1 or 2 cigs a day. 3 or 4 the most, then a 2 day interval break in between. Alcohol I barely drink, maybe 3 times a year? And one shot glass at most if anything. I have drunk a lot of pop over the past few weeks (mostly cola zero) and have had a lot of heartburn too.
Now I know smoking draws me one step closer to cancer, but at this young of age? Common. I know it can occur at any age really but for this type of cancer, it’s more common for people in their mid 40’s, just like any other serious cancer. I don’t recall my family having a cancer history as much as kidney and liver problems mostly.
So, I’m going nuts here because I’m a hypochondriac. I researched every possible cause of my feeling (globus, GERD, throat cancer, sinus infection, lymph node etc) and I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me. I’m fearing for the worst because when I’m told it’s not that, then I get the ultimate relief. I’m booking an apointment to a different doctor now. It also feels like I have a bump under my neck if I lift my head backwards. It’s not visible in the mirror, but you can feel it under skin. Bumpy, not lumpy. I’m really hoping it’s just some acid reflux and the nasal spray will do it, but as I said, this has been here for more than a weeks time. I don’t want to die at this young of an age. I stopped smoking and I probably will never smoke again in my life after this ordeal. I know others who smoke 10 times worse than me and they’re fine as ever.
I just don’t know what it is. I obviously want to hear good responses to tell me not to worry, but I know that I might not get that on yahoo answers. I have typed this feeling in google. Just give me some opinions please. Be sure about them. Oh and no websites for spam telling me I need to order this and that to make it go away.
I haven’t coughed up blood, my chest doesn’t sting or burn, it’s not difficult to swallow food nor does it hurt, I have none of the proposed symptoms, but maybe I don’t have them yet. When people do get those symptoms, they’re in the late stages of cancer, right? Or still in early stages?
Thank You.
A: See a laryngologist or a gp (not an oncologist) because you don’t have cancer.
Now, wanna get cancer? Keep smoking (you’ll need to smoke about 10 or 20 years more to increase your rate of cancer)
Wanna be healthy? Quit, but be aware, no one can quit if not entirely convinced to do so.
I suggest reading http://stopsmoking.eu.pn
The site has a poor design but its contents is very reach.
Q: could anxiety cause abnormal bowels
im major in anxiety i lost 43 pounds do to it wich i cant believe thats what it is could anxiety effect your digestive systme? if your constantly nervous cause i havent had a normal bowel in a long time it comes out light brown soft or in a ball please tell me is this cancer or a major disease will i die? im 18 male non smoker always was healthy it started out by scared of chocking and was afraid to eat for the lonegst time? i hear strange sounds in my body after eating and drink and gugling in throat i do have acid reflux also is this serious will i die soon
? 6 doctors checked up on me told me i was healthy but bowles and weight loss everybody tells me im hypercondria or is it nerves cancer or disease. please answer everypart of question.could it be esophagus cancer?
A: I suffered from constipation and very severe diarrhea. I went to a gastroenterologist. I had a colonoscopy and other test. I was prescribed a medication, Colestid, which I took for about three years.
So, I used to feel the same way. Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.
I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?
I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. Sadly, the package doesn’t have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might be using it and don’t even know it!
Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.
Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose
The slogan, “Made from sugar…” is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.
carbon monoxide – made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air
Q: Terrified of pancreatic cancer?
I don’t know whether I’m just being a hypochondriac or not, but I’ve been having these weird symptoms lately. For the past few weeks, I’ve been having weird dull pains around my right upper abdomen, just below my chest and sometimes below my ribcage. I sometimes get a crampy feeling on my left side as well, and this has been going on for a few months, though it is far less persistent. For the past two days I’ve been getting this colicky weird pain on my lower right quadrant, and sometimes I can feel it in my lower left. Also, I’ve been itching a lot recently. I don’t know if this is psychosomatic or not, can anybody enlighten me as to if that’s possible or not? I lost weight a few weeks after I stopped lifting in June and July, going from 146 pounds to about 138, but I think it’s stagnated since then (who knows, maybe I’ve even gained some this month). My appetite’s been odd, it’s there, but it’s different than it used to be. I get upper cramp-like localized back pains from time to time, sometimes parts of my arms and legs feel cramped for no reason as well. And just a few hours ago, after eating a fatty meal, I had greasy diarrhea (I do have IBS, but I don’t remember it ever giving my fatty stools (this is the first time I’ve seen this). Also, I feel more fatigued than usual. I can still exercise just as well as I used to, but if I’m not being active I feel like falling asleep. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m not scared of any other type of cancer except pancreatic. I heard it can effect people of all ages, even if it is rare. Does this sound anything like it?
I don’t have nausea or vomiting. My pain isn’t severe, it’s typically mild. I’m not yellow, my stools aren’t pale, my urine isn’t dark (but I read that itching is an early sign of jaundice). I can’t tell if I have an enlarged spleen or liver, nothing’s constantly tender, and my Dr. didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary when I got my physical a week ago. Sometimes, though, my upper right or lower right abdomen feels mildly uncomfortable, though this does not last. The pain in my upper quadrant is worse on some days than others (it was worse yesterday than today, and the day before wasn’t too bad). Also, the pain seems to react to stress.
I have no family history of any type of cancer as far as I’m aware, no diabetes, no pancreatitis. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink often (and when I do it doesn’t cause me problems). I’m a white 20 year old male, around 140 lbs. I do have a predisposition to Crohn’s Disease, and I have acid reflux. Does this sound like Crohn’s at all? Does it even sound like a gallbladder issue? Can someone point me in the right direction? I can’t see anyone until Monday, I’d rather not go to the ER, I wanna go out and have fun tonight and if this is constantly on my mind I doubt that’ll happen. I’d greatly appreciate any input. Thanks.
A: Pancreatic cancer in a 20 year old would be one for the record books. Two thirds of those diagnosed with it are over 70, and it’s very rare in people under 40.
See your doctor about your concerns
Q: Would you go to a DR if you think you are possibly dying?
i am in my 40s and haven’t been to a DR in over 15 years…..I have a cronic cough caused by acid reflux or it may be cancer….I have blockage or hemroids because stool is thin…I feel miserable most the time..OH and my feet swell……I have severe phobia of DR though……so just getting me in would take an act of congress. I don’t really care if I go or not…I am more doing it for my family… IDEAS?
A: Going to the doctor can be a very frightening thing, but if it can save your life, wouldn’t that be worth it to you? If you’re just in your 40s, you’re a young person who could have a long life ahead of you.
A chronic cough can be caused by many things, some minor and some not so minor. A postnasal drip can cause it (if you have a tickling feeling in your throat, it may be caused by a postnasal drip). GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) can cause it as well, so if you know you’re already suffering from acid reflux issues, a doctor can help calm these down. Obviously you’re smart enough to know that lung cancer can cause a chronic cough, as well. Do you smoke? If so, or if you’re around secondhand smoke often, there’s a possibility it could be caused by lung cancer. But the thing is, the only way you’ll know is if you visit a doctor and let them do some tests.
What about going to the doctor is it you’re afraid of? Did you have a bad experience with a doctor in the past? If you did have a bad experience, know that all doctors are not the same and some are downright amazing. Is it because you’re afraid of the testing that might be done? It’s true that some of the testing can be unpleasant, but a slow, painful death from lung cancer with no treatments is a lot worse. I don’t mean to be rude in any way, I’m just trying to be realistic for you so perhaps you can put things into perspective.
If you aren’t going for yourself, I’m glad you’re interested in at least doing it for your family. They will not want to see you suffer through an illness that can be treated or even cured, depending on what’s really going on with your body right now. They will most likely want to see you healthy and happy, living a long life.
Q: Long term side effects of taking Prevacid or Protonix?
My grandparents both have acid reflux problems. In both cases the acid reaches the esophagus. My grandpa has a less severe acid reflux and has been on Prevacid for about 2.5 years. One oral in take of Prevacid 30mg solves his problem.
My grandma cannot get rid of her acid reflux despite cutting out all acid causing foods, taking tums in addition to one Protonix a day. She has to get up at 3 am to take a cup of water. She has had this problem also for about 2-3 years. She had H.pyreri but took two weeks of antibotics and her last scope ( last year), everything is ok.
The clinic they go to do not offer the best care as it is always a very rushed exam. Last time the doctor didn’t even listen to their breathing or perform any examination. I am wondering if long term in take of Prevacid or Protonix causes side effects such as ulcers or cancer. Can they go off the medication? The doctor say that for both of them they need to be on medication. I would like them to be drug free, ideally. thanks!
A: There are no major side effects. However, you can put the medicines into Google and see what they bring up or get the data sheet from a pharmacy and read it. The data sheets can confound you, There will be a lot of words that you don’t understand.
